🌿This course will only go ahead with minimum numbers – please book if you want to do it 🌿

Our taste buds are a potent gateway to deeply understanding herbal medicine.

Herbal tastes give us patterns for how herbs might work in our body (based on what constituents are present) and what the best medicine-making technique will be for each herb.

In this deeply experiential course, you’ll build your own relationship with the herbs through direct experience with the 5 major tastes: pungent, bitter, sweet, salty and sour.

Understanding herbal tastes, you’ll be able to:

  1. know the general patterns of how these herbs work in our body
  2. know what chemical constituents are likely to be present and then we know which preparation methods best suit those constituents
  3. build a direct relationship with a plant and
  4. take ownership of your knowledge and understanding – you’re relying on your OWN experience, rather than just what someone’s said.

This course will also cover:

  • why different herbal traditions have different tastes
  • how to understand complexity of tastes in herbs
  • how to describe taste and body sensations in herbalism
  • what energetics is
  • the difference between taste and mouthfeel

Embodied Herbalism gives you a really grounded anchor points so you feel confident to explore and better understand herbs.

And, in our screen-saturated world, where so much learning takes place with our head, this course will give you the nudge you need to get herbalism out of your head and into your hands and senses.
